Bryn Derwen Estate.
We purchased Bryn Derwen in 2015 and over the next few years lovingly restored it. Before we purchased the property it was used as a recording studio and the bands who recorded here would stay in the Coach House. Some of the famous bands who have been here include Echo and the Bunnymen, Bat for Lashes, Everything Everything, Idlewild and The Guillemots.
Bryn Derwen, was in the past part of the Penrhyn Castle Estate and was the wages office for the Penrhyn Quarry dating back to the 1800's. We have tried to maintain the history of the house by keeping the sash windows, parquet flooring, polished slate floor from the Penrhyn Quarry and natural wood features. Added to the original features are all the modern luxuries we enjoy today.
We now have three wonderful properties on the Bryn Derwen Estate, which is nestled in 20 acres of land. This beautiful private estate is set on the edge of the Snowdonia National Park and offers the most magical views in this peaceful and tranquil setting. The tree lined drive guides you to each of the properties, which have their own car parks, private and shared grounds.The Manor House sleeps 20, the Coach House sleeps 10 and the Lodge sleeps 6, these properties can be booked individually or as an exclusive booking for the estate. A full time grounds-man works on site here.
The grounds include a woodland area, walled garden and children’s play area with a swing, basketball hoops, TP climbing frame with monkey bars and slide, wooden stepping stones, balance bar and a 50m zip-wire!

Just of the A55, Bethesda is a former slate quarrying village on doorstep of the Snowdonia National Park. A cycle and walking path now links Bethesda with Porth Penrhyn on the coast.
